Dorothy & Anthony

We are a family who enjoys together time with each other, family and friends. We love outdoor adventures which provide breathtaking sights. We challenge each other and look forward to raising a child who can confront the challenges of life head on with our love and support. The thought of you considering us is one of the most exciting times in our lives together.

Who We Are

More About Dorothy

When I grew up I wanted to be a nurse.

I am really good at problem solving.

I am terrible at singing.

My favorite quote is:

“Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love”

I realized I was no longer cool when I did not own a selfie stick.

More About Anthony

When I grew up I wanted to be an engineer.

I am really good at finding and fixing things.

I am terrible at painting.

My favorite quote is:

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”

I realized I was no longer cool when I was in my twenties and a 10 year old called me “old”.

We can’t wait to…

More About Our Life

Pets

We both come from families of dog lovers. There are three dogs in our immediate family (a chocolate Lab, a white German Shepard puppy and a Corgi). When the time is right we want our child to choose his or her own puppy to add to the pet family and to love and grow up with.

Our Home

Our home is welcoming and open to friends and family. We have slowly changed different areas of the house to impart a little of ourselves and our own personal styles and tastes. We have even furnished a room for a little one to grow and learn in. It is a place where all can feel safe to be themselves and open up.

Our Extended Family

Family, for us, is never very far away as we live close to each other. We get together often for cookouts or to celebrate birthdays. If something needs to get done, everyone chips in to help. Holidays are usually celebrated with a family dinner with everyone lending a hand to help prepare the meal. Extended family vacations to the beach are known to occur every year.

What Adoption Means to Us

Adoption means the world to us. We look forward to helping a child grow and develop into a well-rounded individual. It means making sacrifices for someone other than ourselves and enjoying teaching the child as well as learning from them. Teaching them unconditional love and receiving it in return. Enjoying those experiences that are unique to a parent-child relationship.

Support Network

When we informed out friends of our decision to adopt, they were all fully supportive of our decision. They said “We wish for you to experience the joy and challenges of parenting a child. The feelings, emotions and experiences are so worth the sacrifice. We know that you will make wonderful parents. If your child turns out to be half the kind of person each of you are, the world will be a much better place.”
