Sally and Raj have recently welcomed a new baby into their home and are no longer available to be matched with. View other families that are currently waiting.

We are an active, fun-loving couple in Austin, TX who can’t wait to share our lives with a child. We hope we can build a lifelong bond with you based on mutual respect, shared interests, and love for this child. We believe it is impossible for a child to be loved by too many people and we would love to be a part of the family who loves you and your baby.

Who We Are

More About Sally

When I grew up I wanted to be a ballerina and a mommy.

I am really good at coming up with fun activities.

I am terrible at pop culture references.

My favorite quote is:

“Walk towards the sunshine and the shadows will fall behind you.”

My best mom joke is:

Q: Why is 6 afraid of 7?
A: Because 7 8 9.

I realized I was no longer cool when I no longer recognize many of the bands that play live around Austin.

More About Raj

When I grew up I wanted to be a fireman.

I am really good at squeezing lots of activities into one day.

I am terrible at turning down an invitation.

My favorite quote is:

“Outside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.”

My favorite dad joke is:

Q: What is brown & sticky?
A: A stick.

I realized I was no longer cool when I started telling Dad jokes.

More About Our Life

Pets

Several years ago we adopted a chocolate lab, Bella, who was found loose on I-35. More recently we adopted Bruce, a Great Dane-Italian Greyhound puppy, whose mother was found in rural Oklahoma. They are both very gentle and affectionate and love playing with our young nieces and our friends’ children.

Our Home

We live in a family-oriented neighborhood in South Austin where people walk their dogs and children play happily outside. We look forward to walking our child to the top-rated elementary school a few blocks away, which also has a nice park and playground. Our home is near Zilker Park where we go to see music and movies in the summer. Other nearby activities that we will enjoy sharing with our child include hiking on the Barton Creek greenbelt, visiting Barton Springs Pool, The Thinkery, and the Ladybird Lake hike and bike trails.

Hobbies

We enjoy spending time together working on home improvement projects, traveling, exploring the Barton Creek greenbelt, spending time with friends and family, or even just watching TV. Sally enjoys yoga, walking, and dancing. She likes to bake & decorate cakes and cookies and enjoys many types of crafts. She recently started learning to play the ukulele, her first musical instrument. Raj enjoys running and hiking, and likes to ride his bike in town or on the trails. Photography is another of Raj’s hobbies. He has played classical guitar for over 20 years and now also plays ukulele and mandolin.

Parenting Philosophy

We believe that parenting involves teaching and guiding a child to form strong morals and values. We plan to use positive reinforcement and redirection to guide them to make “good choices” along the way. We will be so happy and honored to be their parent but also feel a deep responsibility to raise a strong and kind adult who will help make this world a better place.

Our Extended Family

Raj is an only child but has many cousins around the country, as well as a few in other countries. His mother lives in North Texas but visits Austin often. Sally has one older brother who lives in Austin with his two young daughters. Her older nieces live in Austin and San Antonio. Sally’s parents retired to the Hill Country where they raise llamas. They also visit Austin frequently.

How We Met

We met through mutual friends and stayed in touch when they moved away. It took a few years for our relationship to transition from friendship to romance, which allowed us to build a strong foundation of trust and mutual respect.

What Adoption Means to Us

We believe in honesty and openness and will talk with our child about his or her adoption from the very beginning. We want our child to be confident and proud of his or her story and we believe that there can never be too much love in a child’s life.
