Hello and thanks for learning about us! We’re Brendon and Brady, a hopeful adoptive couple in Southeastern Minnesota ready to grow our family through open adoption. We’ve been together since 2014, married in 2021, and we’ve built a warm, caring home filled with love, laughter and support.
Adoption holds a special place in our heart. Brendon and his sister were adopted as infants. Brendon’s sister is also a birth mother who placed her child with an adoptive family. Through these experiences, we’ve learned how emotional, complex, and special adoption can be.
Our adoption promises: Honor the child’s story and how it’s connected with yours; Fill their days with happiness, care, fun, and love; And provide them opportunities to explore, learn, and help grow into their own special self.
Things We Can’t Wait to Do as a Family

Our Pet
Our cat, Austin, is a big part of our family and loves being near wherever the action is. Brendon adopted Austin while he was living in Texas (and he’s named after Austin, Texas of course!) He’s calm, friendly, and can find the coziest spot in the house often in Brady’s sunny office or curled up on our laps. Austin has been with us through many chapters of life, and we can picture him watching over a baby from a sunny window or napping during story time.
Our Home
We live in La Crescent, a welcoming river town in Southeastern Minnesota where we enjoy all four seasons. From summer walks to the park, fall trips to apple orchards, snowy days of ice skating, to spring planting in our gardens, each season brings lot of fun!
Our home is a welcoming, comfortable place filled with laughter. We have a large kitchen where we cook together, four spacious bedrooms, a finished basement for family time, and front and back yards with plenty of space to run. Just a short walk away are playgrounds, gardens, and trails.
Our neighborhood is full of kind people who look out for one another. With excellent schools, healthcare, and a peaceful small‑town feel, close to a large city, our home is a safe, nurturing place for a child to grow up.
Our Extended Family
Family is at the center of our lives, and we’re lucky to be surrounded by supportive parents, sisters, one grandmother (grandma Margie!), our godson, extended family, and many incredible friends. We spend a lot of time together celebrating holidays, birthdays, and everyday milestones often with good food and lots of laughter. Our family lives nearby making it easy to stay close and involved. A child in our family will grow up with loving grandparents, proud aunties, and close friends who can’t wait to welcome them.
Our Hobbies
We enjoy spending time with family and friends who live nearby and are a regular part of our lives. At home, we spend time gardening, woodworking, sewing, and cooking new foods. We stay active by running together, playing tennis, and lifting weights. We also love to volunteer. We clean the local food pantry together and we both volunteer with local non-profits like the community theatre and community foundation. Travel is a big part of our lives, too. We’ve visited over 25 countries including Korea, China, India, Iceland, Mexico, France, and many more. We value learning about other cultures, communities, and food.
Parenting Philosophy
We believe parenting is about creating a safe, loving foundation where a child can grow into who they’re meant to be. We’ll lead with patience and encouragement, making sure they always feel supported. Celebrating their individuality, culture, and the uniqueness of their birth family will be important parts of their childhood. We value curiosity, learning, and experiencing the world together whether that’s through books, travel, or adventures close to home. Above all, we want them to grow up knowing they are deeply loved and always supported.
What Adoption Means to Us
Brendon and his sister Aislinn were both adopted from South Korea as infants. His experience gave him a personal understanding of how emotional, complex, and life-changing adoption can be.
As a young adult, his sister Aislinn made the loving decision to place her daughter for open adoption. She chose the adoptive family that was best for her child. Aislinn has given us a meaningful perspective on our own adoption journey and taught us to approach this process with care, openness, and a deep commitment to honoring connections.
Openness Statement
We’d love an open adoption to share updates, photos, and moments with the child’s birth mother and family, if that’s what everyone desires. We’re happy to navigate what that means for everyone in the child’s life, including the birth family. We know we live in Minnesota, but we’d be happy to travel to Texas or find ways so we can connect with each other. Brendon lived in Texas in the past, and we still have many good friends there.

Brady
Brady loves woodworking and sewing. He’s built and refinished most of the furniture in our home and sewn our curtains and pillows.
Brady is a planner and loves to organize our trips—we’ve been to over 25 countries!
Brady enjoys cooking, preserving food, and incorporating fresh veggies from our garden into our meals.
One of his first jobs was a circus ringmaster in a real circus!
Brady loves the water and going paddle boarding, hunting for shells, and snorkeling.

Brendon
Brendon was adopted as an infant from Korea, his sister Aislinn was also adopted.
He grows flowers, especially dahlias, to makes bouquets to give to friends and family.
Brendon has been keeping tropical fish since he was 3 years old and we have a fish tank our neighbor’s sons love to sit and watch.
Brendon enjoys volunteering, he’s been cleaning our local food pantry for the last 5 years.
Brendon loves to bake, especially on holidays. His go to dessert is a family recipe for mandarin orange cake. YUM!
