Jill & Brandon

We live in a small rural town with our daughter, Ava and many loved farm animals. We love our community because wherever we go, we see friendly faces and everyone watches out for each other.

Our farmhouse is a three-bedroom, 1 bathroom house with a lot of history and loving memories because it was my grandparents. We have a large backyard with swings, a slide and tree fort. Our backyard is surrounded by fenced pastureland of 100 acers that we often explore and walk to the creek.

Our friends and their kids love coming over to pick eggs, hold the chickens, chase the ducks, feed the cows, brush the horse, climb the hay bails and pick the garden. There is always something fun and new to explore and we love having family and friends over to have fun, make memories and enjoy the farm.

The kitchen is the heart of our home…we spend time preparing and enjoying meals together. It is a tradition our parents instilled in us: to sit down, slow down, and enjoy a meal together.

Some of Jill’s favorite memories are in Granny’s kitchen making cinnamon rolls, bread and more and it will be a blessing to continue that tradition with Ava and our future kids.

Our friends describe our place as a petting zoo or miniature farm. It’s true, our little farm keeps growing and includes my childhood horse Tommy, Jenny the donkey, Nala and Ebony our cats, many cows, two goats and a ton of chickens that lay delicious eggs for our breakfast. Most of our animals just needed a good home and found the perfect place here.

Brandon’s family is fun-loving and close-knit, they are always ready for a get-together whether it is for an Astros game, swim, or birthday. Brandon comes from a large family; he is the second oldest of 8 children and 5 of his siblings live in our town

Jill’s family is loving and always there to lend a helping hand. She describes her mom as her best friend. Her mom enjoys taking Ava fishing or playing board games on hot summer days. Her dad and Uncles are ranchers and are always up for going on a ride through the pasture on the buggy and feeding animals. We also get to enjoy picking their gardens for delicious fresh food.

Ava is a fun-loving, creative, and adventurous little girl. She loves playing pretend whether it’s singing and making up songs with her microphone, playing mommy with her baby dolls, or playing outside with our cats, miniature goats or chickens.

For instance, we often go exploring at the creek with the goaty woaties, Billy and Bobby as she pretends to be on an adventure. I love that she picks veggies and fruit straight from the garden and eats them before we are done picking!

Visiting her next-door neighbors include Dede, Jaja (Jill’s parents), and two uncles who live a quick bike ride away.

Her new favorite pal is her kitten Nala which she loves to treat as her baby doll and push her around in her stroller. After playtime, we often find Nala fast asleep in the stroller.

No day is complete without a few songs, prayers and bedtime stories.

We are super close to our families. Jill’s parents and two Uncles live less than two miles away and Brandon’s parents and 5 of his siblings live less than 20 minutes away. We see our families several times a week when we get together to hang out, share a meal, or celebrate all the birthdays! We get to see other family members several times a year for get togethers and holidays.

We have been blessed with a creative and fun-loving daughter and becoming parents has been the greatest blessing of our lives.

After struggling with unexplained infertility and loss, we feel deeply called to expand our family through adoption. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to love another child unconditionally.
