Ready to Adopt

Katie & Sameer

Hi! We’re Katie and Sameer, and we’re so grateful you’re here learning about us. We live in Austin, Texas with our golden retriever, Phil Collins. We met in 2012, got married in 2015, and have built a joyful life full of family, friends, travel, and traditions. Now, we’re excited to grow our family through adoption.

We believe open adoption is a beautiful way to give your child as much love and support as possible. We want to follow your lead and work together to create a relationship that feels right for everyone. Whether that’s sharing stories and photos, video chats, or visits, we’ll make sure it fits what’s best for you, us, and most importantly, your child.

We know this is a deeply personal and tough decision. No matter what you choose, it will be the right one for you and your child. If you choose adoption and choose us, we promise to walk this journey together, with respect, gratitude, and love.

Our Home

We live in central Austin, in a home that lets us enjoy the best of both worlds: being close to the heart of the city while having our own peaceful retreat. It’s a place where we love spending quiet time together, but also one that’s always ready to welcome friends and family. Katie’s family often stops by for a few nights, and Sameer’s family visits frequently as well. We feel fortunate to have the space to host loved ones at a moment’s notice. Our home is truly a reflection of us as a family—warm, welcoming, and full of love.

Our Pet

We have a lovable, energetic, and goofy golden retriever named Phil Collins, though he answers to an endless list of nicknames. We’ve had him since he was a tiny puppy, and from the very beginning he’s been part of our family. Phil adores children (really, he adores everyone!) and has the sweetest, silliest personality. We know he’ll be an instant best friend to our future child.

Our Extended Family

Family is a big part of our lives, and we’re fortunate to have strong, supportive relationships with both sides. Katie’s mom and brother live nearby, so we see them often—whether it’s a weekend stay or just a quick stop-in to spend time together. Sameer being the youngest of 7 children makes for a huge extended family! Sameer’s family visits frequently too, and when they do, our home is filled with laughter, good food, and adventure. Both of our families are incredibly excited to welcome a child, and we know our little one will grow up surrounded by grandparents (and grandparent figures), so many aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends who love them deeply.

Parenting Philosophy

Our parenting philosophy is rooted in love, patience, and presence. We believe in creating a home where our child feels unconditionally safe, supported, and celebrated for who they are. We value curiosity, kindness, and laughter, and want to nurture a sense of wonder about the world while also teaching compassion for others. We see parenting as guiding with gentle structure while also giving our child space to grow into their own unique person. Most of all, we believe childhood should be full of joy, encouragement, and endless love.

What Adoption Means to Us

Adoption, to us, means the chance to grow our family through love, connection, and shared dreams. Adoption is a gift we do not take lightly – it represents trust, courage, and the beginning of a lifelong bond.

We promise to provide a safe, joyful, and nurturing home where a child will always feel valued, supported, and deeply loved. For us, adoption is not just about becoming parents, it’s about honoring the story that brought us here, embracing the child’s unique journey, and walking side by side as a family

5 Things About

Katie

When I grew up I wanted to be a chef for kids! And that’s exactly what I became! For many years in New York City, I worked as a chef creating healthy, delicious meals for kids, which was such a rewarding way to combine my love of food and caring for others.”

I am really good at remaining calm under pressure.

I am terrible at sitting still. I always like to be doing something, whether it’s cooking, planning a trip, or working on a project.

My favorite quote: “Cooking is love made visible.”

I realized I was no longer cool when I opted for a night in and an early morning gardening with Phil.

5 Things About

Sameer

When I grew up I wanted to be a fighter pilot growing up. The speed, the focus, and the adventure seemed thrilling to me.

I am really good at remembering literally everything from random facts to dates, numbers, and more. If it exists in my brain, I can recall it!

I am terrible at ignoring a challenge. If it looks tricky, I have to figure it out.

My favorite quote: “You can never be overdressed or overeducated.”

I realized I was no longer cool when I started planning trips around the perfect driving route.
