Hello, thanks for checking out our page! We’re Melissa and Michael from Austin, Texas, though we’re originally from Montreal, Canada. We’ve been married for over 10 years but have known each other most of our lives! We feel strongly about becoming parents family through adoption and are grateful that you’re here.
Melissa owns a real estate development business and was previously an engineer. She’s warm, caring and goofy. Michael is a design manager. He loves helping others and making them laugh. We have a steady and loving partnership where we move through life side by side, whether it’s building a warm home, traveling, creating a family business, or simple daily routines like cooking dinner and walking our dog, Koa, together. Our friends and family, both near and far, can’t wait to meet our adoptive children and be part of the family.
We look forward to getting to know a child for who they are and building a life around them with stability, and love. We would be honored to stay connected through letters, photos, and visits, and to raise a child who knows their story and how deeply they are loved. Whatever you decide, we have a lot of respect for the thought and strength behind it. We know it’s not a small thing, and we’re truly grateful you spent this time with us.

Our Pets
Koa is our 7 year old Lab.
Her favorite things are people, sunshine, cuddles, and walking slow. She’s very nurturing with kids and she can’t wait to welcome another family member.
Our Extended Families
We both grew up in close-knit families in Montreal where traditions, togetherness, and helping one another were simply part of everyday life.
Melissa comes from a large Italian family centered around lively gatherings, Sunday lunches, and strong family bonds. Her parents, Bina and John, are always there to host a family meal or help with anything. Her brother Mark and sister-in-law Melanie are our best friends, while their 3 year old son Lorenzo is our rambunctious godson.
Michael grew up surrounded by a big Irish Catholic family where holidays were loud, welcoming, and full of cousins, projects, and shared experiences. His parents, Denise and Patrick, are always fun to chat with and will be loving grandparents. His brother Darin is intelligent and hilarious, and great to spend time with.
Between us, family has always meant staying connected, showing up for one another, and creating a home filled with warmth, encouragement, and laughter. Those are the values we carry into our own lives today and look forward to sharing with our future children alongside a large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Our Hobbies
We got into fitness together and found a community that values both health and having fun. We also discovered a love for remodeling homes and creating spaces that feel thoughtful and lived in.
Parenting Philosophy
Raise with love and kindness, practice patience and teach discipline. We believe the most important outcome for our children would be to grow up knowing how to give and receive love, be resilient, and think critically for themselves.
How We Met
We first met in preschool, where Mike had a bit of a crush on Melissa and wasn’t shy about it. We reconnected years later at 18, started dating, and have been together sharing adventures ever since!

Michael
Is obsessed with eating tacos and rating them (yes, he has a list)
Was a Longhorns fan before we moved to Austin – he likes to say he saw it coming, and remains still a big hockey fan
Enjoys working with his hands, builds furniture for fun, and even built his own sauna and cranks the heat hotter than anyone we know (also in preparation for Texas)
Could vacation to the same place in Hawai’i (North Shore, Oahu) for the rest of his life
Loves on our dog Koa by grooming her every week
