Adoption Advocates places newborns and children up to three years of age. If you are considering placing an infant you’ve just delivered, or a child up to 3 years old that you are currently parenting, we will be able to help.
The adoption process moves more quickly when the baby has already been born, but you will still have all the same rights and choices as expectant parents. When you reach out to Adoption Advocates, we’ll first want to find out a little more about your situation. If you are still in the hospital, an adoption specialist will plan to visit you to explain the process in more detail. If you’re readym she’ll also provide adoptive family profiles.
If you are already parenting at home, your adoption specialist will first make sure that you and the baby or child are in a safe place and having your basic needs met. Once that has been established, you’ll set up a time to meet, discuss the process and begin making an adoption plan.
Your adoption specialist will also help you explore options that may allow you to continue parenting your child, if that’s what you want. Adoption is a permanent decision, and one that should not be made because of a temporary situation or hardship. No matter where in Texas you live, there are resources that can help you find housing, food, employment and more.
