Adoption Information Session

Growing your family through adoption is an exciting – but complex – process. Join us for an informative online session to learn more about adopting a child through Adoption Advocates. Executive Director Rory Hall will explain how the process works, including qualifications, costs and home studies. She’ll also discuss factors to consider when it comes to adoption preferences and flexibility. At the end of the session, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions.

All info sessions are held via Zoom and there is no cost to attend. In order to keep sessions interactive, space is limited and advance registration is required.

Open Adoption for Prospective Adoptive Parents

This seminar provides an in-depth look at open adoption, and what to expect when raising an adopted child. After attending, you will feel more prepared to navigate the adoption process and overcome challenges families may face with open adoption. All of our families, including those who are out-of-state, must attend this training.

We encourage you to take advantage of this seminar for the following reasons:

• Gather as much information as possible in order to make an informed decision. Adoption is one of the most significant decisions you will ever make both emotionally and financially.
• Fulfill Adoption Advocates’ and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services’ requirements for adoptive parent training before placement can occur. The agency will issue a certificate for each attending family that outlines the topics covered and shows that 8 hours of adoption training were completed.
• Hear first-hand from others who have been through the process. During the training, a panel of birth parents will join us and share their adoption experiences. Previous participants have expressed to us that this has been one the most meaningful aspects of the seminar.
