Training Seminars

Ready to Learn More About Adoption?

Adoption Advocates offers several free, two-day weekend workshops each year for parents that are considering adoption. These training seminars answer lots of questions about the adoption process and allow you to get to know us better. We encourage you to take advantage of this meeting for the following reasons:

  • Gather as much information as possible in order to make an informed decision. An adoption plan is one of the most significant decisions you will ever make both emotionally and financially.
  • Fulfill AAI’s and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services’ requirements for adoptive parent training before placement can occur. AAI will issue a certificate for each attending family that outlines the topics covered and shows that 10 hours of training were completed.
  • Hear first-hand from others who have been through the process. On Saturday, a panel of birth parents will join us and share their adoption experiences. On Sunday, a group of adoptive parents will share their personal journeys. Previous participants have expressed to us that these panels were the most meaningful aspect of the seminar.

Our next adoptive parent training seminar is scheduled for May 19-20, 2018 in Austin, TX. For details and to RSVP, please email
