Goose & Sarah

We live in a small neighborhood in South Austin. It’s far enough south to feel like a quirky small town, but we’re just a few minutes away from the city. Our house is full of personality, with lots of color, vintage furniture, and art – every piece of which has a story. We have a growing collection of magnets from everywhere we travel. Our backyard feels like a secluded little park, we love grilling on the patio and watching birds come to our feeders.

We met in our college dorm at The University of Texas at Arlington. After becoming fast friends, our relationship grew naturally. It wasn’t a surprise to any of our friends, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. When we told our family we were getting married a few years ago, Goose’s dad joked “it took you long enough!” We recently celebrated our 20th anniversary together and our 3rd wedding anniversary.

Traveling to Big Bend to explore the beautiful landscape! We love to be outdoors and spending time in nature. Some of our favorite vacations include kayaking, hiking, and bicycling in new places!

We have two tuxedo cats, Archie and Jelly. They moved in with us about 8 years ago. Archie (with the mustache) is a playful, funny, good natured bird watcher. He’s a bit of a scaredy cat, but when he gets used to someone he’ll be their best friend. Jelly is a loving lap cat who never lets us get too far out of her sight. She just knows that everyone who comes to the house is there to see her, and she adores the attention. Both are quite vocal, especially when we’re late getting them breakfast!

We’re so lucky to live a few minutes from Goose’s parents and sister’s family, and just across town from Sarah’s mom. We see our family often and truly love to spend time with them. Family are our favorite travel companions, game night guests, and shopping buddies. Holidays are usually quite large gatherings, visiting Sarah’s extended family out of town.

Singing silly songs we make up together and having dance parties in the kitchen! We’re usually playing music, making up songs about our cats, or dancing around whenever we’re in the kitchen. We’re so excited about sharing this with a child and learning some dance moves from them!

Adoption has been part of our vision for our family since early in our relationship. We are eager to share our values and personalities with a child, while also learning from them and supporting them as they discover the world and who they are. More than anything, we look forward to walking alongside a child through life’s ups and downs, providing guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love as they grow and thrive within our family.
