These are very scary and uncertain times. The virus, the stay-at-home mandate, virtual doctor visits and all the anxieties and emotions that go with it. Facing an unplanned pregnancy is always a difficult situation, but COVID-19 certainly complicates things.

You might be reading this because you’re already considering adoption. I know that is overwhelming and it comes with even more uncertainty than you are already dealing with. Can I even give my baby up for adoption? Am I a bad person for even considering it? What will people think? Will I ever see him or her again?

Or you might often push all those thoughts out of your head, because you’re thinking about the danger to you or your baby every time you go to the grocery store, food pantry or a doctor appointment.

Our job at Adoption Advocates is to help you process these questions and help you figure out the best decision for you and your baby – including parenting your child.

We are ready and available to provide counseling during this time. To help keep you and your baby safe and healthy, we’re limiting our in-person meetings. When you’re ready to talk, we can set up a phone call, or meet virtually through Skype, Facetime or Google Hangout. You’ll be able to get answers to your questions and we can explain the process without any risk to you or your baby.

All adoption services to expectant parents are available to you at no cost. In addition to counseling, these services include explaining the adoption process, getting access to health care, applying for Pregnancy Medicaid and connecting with a family that wants to adopt.

It’s important to know that you don’t sign the legal documents to place your baby until 48 hours after your baby is born. There is no obligation when you reach out and ask for help processing your decision. If you decide adoption is not right for you, you will have our support.

We are here to help with no pressure and no judgement. Ask your first question today by calling or texting (512) 270-8415 or requesting information online.
