“I didn’t know I was pregnant, and I’ve been drinking.”

“I’m trying to quit smoking for my baby, but I can’t.”

“I have bipolar disorder, and I’m afraid my baby will too.”

Many expectant parents have questions about genetic risks and exposures during pregnancy – especially when the pregnancy was unintended. If you are working with women experiencing unplanned pregnancies, they may often express concerns about their baby’s health and development.

Join Adoption Advocates and genetics counselor Lori Wolfe on Tuesday, June 4, for an introduction to teratogens and their implications for pregnancy outcomes. Designed specifically for social workers and healthcare professionals, this free one-hour webinar will enable you to:

  • Define teratogen and identify common ones
  • Understand the impact of genetics and environmental exposures on fetal development
  • Identify common teratogens
  • Advise your clients on potential risks during pregnancy with evidence-based information
  • Direct expectant parents and adoptive families to resources for more information
  • Recommend strategies to minimize exposure or mitigate risk when possible

Social workers are eligible to receive one CEU for attending. Space for this training is limited – register online now.
