LGBT adoptive parents Ruben and Miguel with their son

Ruben & Miguel

Ruben and Miguel have recently welcomed a new child into their home and are no longer available. Other families are still waiting though, and you can VIEW THEM HERE. To learn about additional families or to speak with an adoption specialist, please call Adoption Advocates at (512) 477-1122.

We would like to thank you for considering us and giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves.

We have always dreamed of growing our family and creating loving and happy memories, just like we have with our son, Diego.

We understand that choosing a family is a big decision and we want to ensure that you feel comfortable and at peace with your choice. If we are fortunate enough to be chosen by you, we will consider you a part of our family and our lives will be forever intertwined.

Our Son

Diego

We have always known that Diego was meant to be a part of our family. From the moment he was born, he has brought joy and happiness into our lives. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful, cheerful, and loving child. As Diego turns 5, he is eager and excited to welcome a new sibling into our family.

Our Pet

Mia

Before we met, Miguel found Mia on the streets in East Austin. She ran right up to him and followed him to the car. When he opened the door to get in, she jumped in on her own and was immediately a member of the family. She is great with Diego and puts up with him chasing him around the house.

OUR HOME

We live in a two-story house with four bedrooms, 3 ½ bathrooms, an office and family room. Our house is walking distance to the neighborhood park and swimming pool. This neighborhood is great during Halloween, and everyone goes all out each year.

OUR HOBBIES

We are big kids at heart. We like to collect limited edition posters, vinyl toys and build Lego sets. We also enjoy watching scary movies, musical theater, and catching up on the latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Our Extended Family

Our extended family is very important to us. We are both the oldest of three boys and grew up with very similar backgrounds. Although Ruben’s parents and brothers live in the Dallas area, most of our extended family all live in El Paso, TX. We are both very lucky to have always s had their love and support.

How We Met

Once upon a time, our friend, Jacquelyn, thought that we should meet. Ruben knew Jacquelyn from a charity lawyer musical he does every year and Miguel knew her from his good friend, Adam, her roommate. It took a while, but a few months later we met at Jacq’s birthday party at Donn’s Depot in Austin, TX. Since then, we have been inseparable.
