White adoptive parents Katie and Rowdy in Midland

Waiting to Adopt

Katie & Rowdy

Hi, thank you for taking the time to check out our page. We have been married for 8 years and are so excited to start our family. We feel very blessed in our marriage to have had so much time to connect and become the best of friends, building a strong foundation through the ups and downs of life, which we know will translate into a great parenting team. We are extremely grateful to you for considering us to help raise, nurture, and encourage your baby, and give them a life where they feel supported, empowered, and loved.

Pets

We have 2 dachshunds that we adore. Sisco is 16 years old and Winnie is 7 years old. Since Sisco has gotten older, she is mainly interested in sleeping. Winnie, on the other hand, is full of energy and would play fetch all day if we let her.

OUR HOME

We live in a one-story home with 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Our house backs up to a park with baseball fields, a playground, and a duck pond. During little league season, we get to hear the National Anthem in the evenings. Midland is a somewhat small town with a large number of young families, and we believe it will be a great place for a child to grow up.

OUR HOBBIES

We love getting out and being active. Some of the activities we enjoy are tennis, golf, hiking, and spending time with friends. Most of the friends in our circle here have young children so a baby would fit right in. We also love taking trips and look forward to creating a summer vacation tradition with our child

How We Met

We met in 2010 through mutual friends while attending college. Katie was attracted to Rowdy’s intelligence and confidence. Rowdy was drawn to Katie’s humor and kindness. After college, we dated long distance until we got married in 2015.

What Adoption Means to Us

We are so excited to grow our family through adoption. We know that adoption is such a blessing, as we have seen firsthand with our own family and friends who have adopted and been adopted. Our main goal in adopting is to raise a child to be happy and confident, giving them plenty of love and support along the way. We know this is a very difficult decision you’re making but want you to know that we fully intend to make you a part of our family as well, to the extent you’re comfortable, so you will be able to remain connected to your child throughout his or her life.
